WHEN DID YOU KNOW YOU WANTED TO BE A MOTHER?
I always loved the idea of babies and children as a younger child myself. As I entered my 20’s, I thought I would never have children, nor did I really want them. It wasn’t till I met my now husband at 24 years old that I started feeling more comfortable with the idea of having a family. At the age of 27 we had our first boy. My world changed drastically. We were far away from my family, and I had an extremely tough time figuring out just how to be a Mom (with a husband that worked away from home for weeks at a time). I didn’t feel comfortable in my skin, and I definitely did not think I was made out to be a Mom. I hid my dark feelings and thoughts from everyone except for myself. It took me about a year and a half after my son was born to really feel comfortable and happy again. Now 5.5 years later and two little boys that call me Mom, I wouldn’t change the way things are for the world! I am so happy that this is the path I was chosen to be on.
HOW HAS YOUR BUSINESS WITH JUICE PLUS GIVEN YOUR FAMILY NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Our worlds have changed so much over the past year, it’s crazy to see it all unfold day by day. Being a part of an online business can be daunting at times as people have a lot of negativity towards it. I was insanely skeptical, but had to trust my gut and go with it. It has opened up a world of opportunities by giving me a chance to meet so many incredibly hard working people that have taught me so much about myself. This business is finally allowing my husband and myself to pay off some serious debt that I never thought we would get around to in our 30’s.
HOW DO YOU BALANCE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND MOTHERHOOD?
Every day presents new challenges and obstacles to overcome as a Mom of two young boys. I try my best to map/plan out my day. My mornings are solely dedicated to my children, getting school lunch made, breakfast, keeping positive happy attitudes (with lots of singing) to get us ready for another busy day. By nap time for my little 16 month old, I am ready to dig into my ‘me time’ with work (whether this is listening to an online call, reading a few chapters of whichever book I currently have out from the library, reaching out to people for follow up, making an online post, getting samples ready to send out to people, etc.). Afternoons and evenings are family time, and once bedtime is done I usually give myself another hour of work related tasks before getting ready for bed myself.
IN REGARDS TO MOTHERHOOD – WHAT ARE THE MOST CHALLENGING / REWARDING ASPECTS OF YOUR BUSINESS?
Most challenging is that every day is different and that I am quite literally my own boss. So when I am having lazy/unmotivated days, my business fails because I am not working consistently with it. I also find at times I can be on my phone more than I want to be in front of my children while trying to do work related tasks. Being present is so important and was one of my big goals for 2019.
Most rewarding is getting to better mine and my families health and SO many other families health and wealth! The positive work I get to do DAILY by sharing my love for this online business and building up others and helping them grow their teams fills my cup!
